Madewell Overalls | Adidas Sneakers | Striped Shirt | Rebecca Minkoff Midnighter Bag | Kate Spade Sunglasses
I’m onto my final days in Washington D.C. in the comfiest pair of overalls I’ve ever had on! You can start at the beginning and check out my long line coat on day 1 of the city, and my cute polka dot dress on day 2. I packed really well for this trip because I didn’t have much room to work with.
I only brought a carry on, which I usually do for most trips these days. You can see my go-to packing list that I shared last summer for my trip to Montreal, and I more or less stuck with the same game plan this time around. Planning my outfits for each day helps me to not overpack, especially when I make sure that I’m bringing versatile pieces like this studded bag that I can wear with every outfit! My other travel go-to’s are pieces like a comfy black jumpsuit, a versatile leather jacket, and a classic pair of sandals.
It was a happy accident that I found these overalls in Madewell while in the States. Madewell doesn’t have locations in Canada. Even though they ship here, I hadn’t tried on enough of their stuff to be confident in my sizing.
My friend and I ended up stopping here after we found ourselves on the shopping street in Georgetown. I was beside myself to find these overalls in every size so I could try them all on! I went with a medium which is very true to size, so now I for sure won’t be too nervous ordering online.
Our last nice day in the city was spent at Union Market which was the perfect spot to grab lunch. It had a ton of choices and reminded me of my favourite spot in Copenhagen, which had the same kind of vibe! There was even a shop dedicated to local goodies. These spots usually end of being my favourite part of trips; loading up on stuff that I wouldn’t be able to get anywhere else!
After lunch and stopping to get some A+ pictures on the mural walls, we headed to Georgetown once again to walk around, look at some shops, and head to the water. I also forced my friends to wait in line for over 30 minutes (oops!), so I could try one of the infamous Baked & Wired cupcakes. I’m telling you, it was beyond worth it. Try the Uniporn (lol) one people, you’ll die and go to cupcake heaven! We also made a pitstop at Trader Joe’s. I needed to grab (again) the infamous Everything But the Bagel seasoning and that stuff is AMAZING. I was nervous it wouldn’t live up to the hype but I’m telling you, I put it on everything!
Finally, on our last day in the city, we went for bottomless brunch at Masa 14. Bottomless brunch is not a thing in Edmonton so I was determined to try it before I left Washington. This place had interesting interpretations on breakfast food, but was definitely good enough to warrant going back!
I hope you enjoyed this little series on my trip to Washington D.C.! I put together an all encompassing travel recap here if you’re planning a trip to the US capital!
