It’s always a good day for some thrifting, amirite?!
I’ve always loved thrifting but I kind of fell out of the habit because I stopped having time to head to the thrift store for hours on end. I don’t really “gamble” per say, but to me that’s what second hand shopping can be; an absolute win or an epic loss. I’ve snagged a few of my favourite pieces that I bought years ago and still wear religiously like this lace top from my one of my first outfit posts, and my sweater from last week’s 5 ways to wear leather leggings.
When I go thrift shopping, there are a few things I always look for (1) blazers (2) accessories (3) denim. I find the most success in these three places and I love the vintage look of them. Granted, if I’m in the mood or have the time, I’ll obviously go through the entire store because there are so many great pieces to be found.
Most of the denim at second hand stores these days are the cheap stretchy ones, so you really have to look hard for the real thick jeans. Does anyone else find that old style denim fits them WAY better than new?! I swear this pair fits me like a glove compared to most new pairs I try.
I’m thinking the colour of this pair is a tad too 1992 for me, so I might try and lighten them. Not sure how exactly I’m going to go about that, but I’m going to give it a shot! Let me know if you have any recommendations if you’ve lightened your own denim before!
I’m heading to New York City next Wednesday to visit a friend I met on my exchange semester (!!!) and I’m considering hitting up a Goodwill while I’m there. I’m thinking there might be a few cute things to find in boujee NYC!
