Aritzia Floral Top | American Eagle Jeans | Gucci Belt | Steve Madden Boots | Aritzia Laboratoire Coat | Rebecca Minkoff Bag | H&M Earrings (similar here)
I love my neutrals as much as the next gal, but this fall I’m trying to get out of my comfort zone and wear more colour; a good colour combo amps up style if you ask me. That’s why I fell out of my usual and bought this top in marigold floral. Floral is one of my all time favourite patterns and I wear it all. the. time. My favourites have been on dresses, blazers and jackets, and tops but if I could I would probably wear floral all the time while living in an all floral house in an all floral world. You could say I’m a little obsessed, and it would still be an understatement!
BUT while florals are right up my alley, yellow is definitely NOT. I’m not lying when I say this is the only yellow thing in my closet (except for my Elementary school graduation dress. Yes, I still have it and yes, it still fits. Can’t get into my high school jeans but the elementary grad dress still zips up…). Marigold is a trend this year, but I’m confident it’ll stick around because it goes with the fall vibess. With how much I love this Paula blouse from Aritzia, I’m on the hunt for a few more marigold pieces to add to my closet. This top fits between true to size and a little big. I bought a size small and my normal size is a small or medium.
Burgundy has been a fall and closet staple for some time; this sweater was a fan favourite (under $35!), and my Rebecca Minkoff bag has been worn so many times (like here, here, here, here and here), I’m wondering if I should buy it in another colour! Burgundy will never be taken out of my wardrobe because it’s so versatile, and seriously never goes out of style; I wore it over two years ago as a main outfit colour and still wear and love the piece!
If you ask me, these are the best colours for fall this year! They put me right in the fall mood by matching the leaves and combined, they get you out of your neutral comfort zone without going too wild with colour… win, win!
I pulled out some old classics for this outfit like my trusty American Eagle black jeggings, my all time favourite Wilfred faux fur coat, black chelsea boots and my Gucci belt. Mixing new pieces with staples is the best way to dress!

The set was shot back in September. Why did it take you so long to create this post?

Hi Karlie! I usually have some lag time between shooting outfits and them making it to the blog based on my posting schedule. Sometimes certain photo sets don’t make it up for a little while if I have lots of other shoots to put up or post ideas! xx
