I love heels, and I mean LOVE. I buy tons of heels and every time I convince myself that I will definitely wear them. And then I don’t. Again. I used to buy sky high heels which not only I couldn’t walk in, but I was taller than pretty much everyone around me. Because I am already 5’8 1/2″, those heels always made me to the point of towering over everyone, plus because I am pretty tall, I have trouble finding skirts and dresses that are long enough. When I say long enough, I mean don’t show all the goods with a slight bend. So those massive heels weren’t really helping anybody.

Lauren Bushnell (the girl that won the Bachelor last season) has pretty sick style. Her instagram is filled with off the shoulder tops and heels and I love it. Even though I am still looking for the perfect long sleeve, blush colored, small banded, flowy off the shoulder top… (that might be impossible lol), I found the perfect heels, all thanks to Lauren.

She posted a photo with these heels, and they immediately went on my must have list. And then went onto my credit card bill 2 hours later. I was in love. They’re short enough that I am not towering over my bf in them, I can actually walk in them, and they are more than acceptable for work/school presentations because of their closed toe. I kid you not, I love these shoes.

I ended up wearing them on my birthday but one of the straps broke. I think it was because I yanked them so tight as to make sure they did not fall off. I was unaware at that point that the straps were probably more decorative than they were sturdy to strap my ankle in. And the strap broke off, not 20 minutes after the birthday festivities had begun. But I brought them back to the Steve Madden store all ready to get pissed off, and they said they would fix them just like that. Now that’s how you get a recurring customer outta me.

ANYWAYS, so now I have them back and I love them just as much as I did pre-broken strap. And I thought that I might as well wear them to work since I have the chance for the summer.

I paired them with my Wilfred Free dress in my favourite fabric, and tied my old J Crew button up around my waist for some added interest.

I forgot (or maybe never even realized) how gorge this bridge is in Hawrelak Park. We headed down there, camera and Remedy Chai’s in hand to take some pics and I love how they turned out. Definitely watch out for some more coming out of this location soon.
