All these posts about New York make me want to book another trip asap! Especially since I got a WestJet credit for $100 since my flight was so delayed on the way there (you can read more about THAT in Part 1 of the diary!)
Day 3 started with my favourite breakfast of the trip and of my life I think – bagels. Dang, I love a good bagel and these 100 million percent did not disappoint! We went to a place called Bagels & Schmear and it was so packed, the line went out the door. Seems everyone else had the same bagel plan for their Saturday morning! I got the everything bagel with bacon, egg, cheese and avocado. I wish I could have gone back for seconds and thirds but it was so filling, I hardly needed lunch or even dinner that night! A return trip to NYC could be planed just for these, to be honest.
After breakfast, we went to Grand Central Station because it was the one place I really wanted to see. I’m not too sure what I was expecting, but it was cool to see. I always compare places I go to movies I’ve watched in the same place. I will admit, this one let me down a tad. When I was in Washington, everything looked exactly the same as it had in Designated Survivor (amazing show btw), but this one just didn’t live up the the expectations Friends with Benefits gave me. Oh well, you win some, you lose some!
Aritzia Laboratoire Coat (last seen here and here) | Aritzia Turtleneck | Zara Leopard Blouse | Aritzia Jallade Trousers | Franco Sarto Loafers via DSW | Camelia Roma Bag
As a true binge show watcher, we had to stop at the MET steps like they always did on Gossip Girl. Would I even be a millennial if we didn’t make that stop?! We didn’t have enough time to actually go inside, but the outside is pretty cool. It’s right next to Central Park so we decided to take a walk through while we continued to digest the bagels.
I love Central Park. It’s so crazy that you can go into the middle and not even realize you’re still in the heart of the city. It reminds me of home in that way because we have such an expansive river valley here in Edmonton.
Reformation Peacoat (similar less expensive version here and here) | Aritzia Turtleneck | Aritzia Jallade Trousers | Franco Sarto Loafers via DSW | Camelia Roma Bag
I made the group take a little detour and stop back at Reformation to finally pick up the coat I had tried on on day 1. I couldn’t get it out of my head, and that’s when you know it’s worth the splurge! Let’s just say there was an outfit change that afternoon!
Of course, I wasn’t going to go to New York without taking a peak at the Brooklyn Bridge! We were eating dinner on the other side of the water, so we walked across the bridge. Even though it was packed with tourists, I loved it! It has such pretty views of both sides of the city. So worth the tourist hype!
Dinner was at a spot called Ceconnis, right on the water with views of the bridge lighting up and the city at night. Plus, it’s never a bad thing when the pasta is that good! I got the pesto pasta and was NOT disappointed; I cleaned the plate and if that isn’t an indicator of a good meal, I don’t know what is!
Ahh we’re so close to the end of my NYC trip! I love sharing my trips because it makes me reminisce and that’s always a good thing when the trip was great, and you got to see friends you haven’t seen in ages!
Make sure to take a peak at the final leg of my trip in NYC Diaries Part 4!
