AND we’re back with part 2 of my trip to New York City! I love sharing about my travels because when I go somewhere new, I always feel a little overwhelmed if I’m the one in charge of finding things to do on my own. I shared part 1 here, so if you haven’t checked that one out yet, take a read and then come back!

Luckily for me, my friend who lives in the city is the BEST tour guide! She took us all around Washington DC last year when I went to visit her there. Although you could probably go to Washington and NYC a million times and not see it all, I got SUCH a good taste of what each city is about on my trips. That’s all you can really ask for when you’re traveling, am I right?!
Unlike my first day in the city, we all (I traveled with 3 of my friends!) spent the day – and the rest of the trip – together.
We started with brunch at Two Hands and it was SO delish! I had the ham and cheese croissant with a fried egg and I wanted to order another one when I was done! If you didn’t already know, I have a slight (see: large) croissant addiction. It IS the best pastry. Sorry you can’t change my mind.
We spent the rest of Friday walking around Soho and browsing different shops. There is honestly everything there. If you want to add something to your wardrobe as a souvenir, Soho is the SPOT to do that. I almost caved on so many things – mainly at the Rebecca Minkoff store – but ended up being good and not buying anything (I had something else on my mind)!
We did stop at the Glossier and Mejuri store, two places that I don’t have to home and was SO excited to go! Glossier was packed but for good reason, the store was so cool; I now see why it’s such a big deal. I bought the Rich Priming Moisturizer and I LOVE it. Honestly can’t say one bad thing about it, so I’ll probably be buying another when I run out.
Mejuri is an affordable fine jewelry store. I heard about it online (there are SO many Pinterest ads for them right now), but I love the concept. Turns out, it’s actually a Canadian brand, so I opted to wait until I got home to avoid the fees and duties I would have had to pay if I had shopped in the US.

Our next stop was Chelsea, with the High Line, the Chelsea market and our eventual dinner spot! I loved this area of the city. The High Line was such a cool stretch, definitely worth the walk across if you’re in NYC. I can only assume how cool it would be in the summer when the trees are in bloom.
Chelsea Market had lots of cool little shops to peak at and food places to stop for a snack. I got a Coconut Dream Bar from Amy’s Bread inside the market and O. M. G. Delish! Plus, just around the corner was a multi-level Restoration Hardware. Kind of funny to recommend this spot, but it is such a cool place, beautiful spaces to look at and a killer view.
Next up was the Samsung store in the area and man alive, companies go hard in NYC. We had an impromptu photoshoot in the middle of the store (aka that’s what they do in the store!) It ended up being so fun and I LOVED the photos we got. I’m always the gal that forces my friends into photos because I (obviously!) love having photos to look back at after my trips.
Dinner was at Toro for tapas and I highly recommend! We shared a bunch of plates to get a taste of everything. My favourites were the dates and creamed corn. Probably ended up being one of my favourite meals in the city!
Update – Toro has permanently closed as a result of the pandemic which is SO sad considering how delicious the food was. Please try to continue to support local businesses during this crazy time and beyond. We all want to have some amazing places to head to (and people can go back to work to) one this is all over! SUPPORT LOCAL PEOPLE!
Day 2 had one of my favourite outfits from the trip! I layered my favourite Aritzia Laboratoire Coat, H&M blazer and basic black turtleneck to keep me warm, without sacrificing style. That’s what I like to hear!
Make sure to come back next week for the next part of my trip and thanks for reading!
xx Victoria
