HELLO EVERYONE and welcome to the brand new site! I’m so excited to finally share my new and improved blog (hopefully you all think it’s new and improved too!)
I wanted to address a few minor (see: MAJOR) changes the blog went through recently and let you all know exactly what’s goin’ on! So without further ado:
Why the name change?
I’ve felt for a while that Strung in Gold just wasn’t meshing with me anymore. I came up with it on the fly after deciding I wanted to start a blog and didn’t want to wait around while I came up with the perfect name – so, as bad as it sounds, I kind of settled on it. After 3 long years (omg!), I felt like the blog needed a creative turn if you will, and the Vic Version was born.
Funny story actually, the new name was supposed to be the Victoria Version and I went ahead and made all the changes, only to realize that when you read it with all the words together, like so – thevictoriaversion.com, it made it look like the name was the Victori AVERSION. What a fail.
So here we are, a few days later than the planned reveal, with the Vic Version. Just as good, if not better if you ask me!
Why the new layout?
The new layout came from what I felt was lacking with the old set up. It didn’t seem very user friendly and there was too much dead space. I’m really hoping that this new site is easy to navigate and looks like the blog of your DREAMS. It looks like mine so that’s a WIN.
What can you expect?
So as for the posting schedule; I’m going to continue trying to be consistent on here, as I have been in 2019, and post new content every Tuesday and Thursday. Obviously, I’m not starting out well since it’s a Wednesday, but with the sh**show that was the double name change, I’ve already forgiven myself.
You can catch up with a few of the most recent posts such as my time in Miami, my favourite thrifted mom jeans, and easy ways to go green while I’m working hard to pump out another one. If you’re already caught up, take a meander through the site; there’s lots of good stuff to check out!
I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on the new site, the new name, and all of the above, PLUS anything you want to see out of the blog as I head in this new creative direction if you will.
