Lipstick is one of the best and easiest ways to make your outfit go from a 6 to at least a 9. It can pull everything together, add a touch of class and interest to an otherwise simple look. You name it, lipstick can do it for you. That being said though, I hate the fact that lipstick is the WORST for staying put throughout the day. Maybe it’s just me, but I still can’t find anything that stays for a full day.
The only lipstick I’ve tried that even comes close to staying on after eating and drinking is the liquid lipstick from Smashbox. I wore it in this post and writing now makes me remember that I have to replace it. After a while it dried out, which I guess I can expect from something that’s supposed to expire after year. (Don’t worry, I don’t throw out my lipsticks after a year either, I can’t afford that! These are expensive!)
The one I’m wearing is my all time favourite red in colour, but the holding power is dismal. It flakes after a few hours. Honestly, I’ll still wear it until I run out because I love the colour so much, but won’t be buying more.

One of my favourite style tricks is matching lipstick; match it to some part of my outfit. In this case, my bright red Marc Jacobs bag. It’s an easy way to fab up your look a bit, and even make it look like you tried harder than you really did.
This coat has quickly become one of my all time favourite purchases. I bought it when I was in NYC a few months ago and still adore wearing it. It was definitely an investment piece, but one that I think was very worth it.
