If now isn’t the time for athleisure, then when?! I’m breaking down the details on my activewear set from Girlfriend Collective: if it’s worth it and where to snag it to support small businesses in the midst of all of this.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been LIVING in athleisure these past few weeks. I’m working from home now and you can bet I pulled out every sweatsuit and leggings I own. If I’m going to be quarantining at home, I might as well be comfy right?!
I love a good sweatsuit as much as the next gal, heck, probably even more! This tie dye one was a recent-ish purchase and I still love it. It’s so comfy and cute and perfect to lounge around your house for months (literally!) But there are some times that I want a cute set that I can actually sweat in.
Girlfriend Collective is great because they’re an ethical company and they make their garments out of garbage. YUP. It’s crazy. Plus, they’re so dang cute. I have this navy set, but also have this same bra in purple, and the bike shorts in black. All I love and all I’ve worn again and again.
When it comes to sizing, size DOWN. I can say this wholeheartedly. The size chart on the website shows my measurements as a large but sometimes I wonder if the medium is slightly too big. My bike shorts are a large and I definitely should have gotten a medium. My leggings though are a medium and I’m wondering if I should have gotten a small. Maybe after all this stay home stuff is over, I’ll have to go try on a small just to see.
The bra fits true to size though. I usually wear a medium and I am 100% a medium in the Paloma.
You can shop Girlfriend Collective activewear a bunch of places like the Bay or their own website, but in these trying times, consider buying from The Skinny. The Skinny is a small business in Edmonton that I’ve shared before on my favourite Canadian shops post. We’e gotta do what we can to help all the small businesses out people!
