J Crew Factory Gingham Button Up | Jacket (similar) | American Eagle Jeans | Steve Madden Booties (similar) | H&M Purse (old) | MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick | Tayroc Watch
Well, fall has now come and gone.. and come back again! It probably won’t last long, but I’m trying to soak all of it up before I can’t anymore. I’m wearing outfits left and right without my giant parka overtop. I think that’s one of the things I hate most about winter. You can never go outside without being completely bundled up. As someone who loves showing off my outfits, having them hidden beneath the same black parka everyday can get pretty dry; that’s the cost of living in a place like Edmonton I guess.
On this particular day, I ditched my basic sweater, scarf, and black jeans look, and opted for a much more fashionable ensemble. I stuck with my American Eagle black jeans and black Steve Madden booties; it still wasn’t warm enough to go ankle out! I love the look of a below the belt monochromatic look. This came up in my very first blog post ever here, and am still 100% into it. I think it really elongates the legs and makes the whole outfit come together!
I picked up this gingham button up (last seen here) from J Crew Factory at the end of August, and I am still crushing hard. People have said that gingham was a summer trend, and plaid (like usual) replaces it for fall. I disagree. Gingham is so versatile. I definitely think it can be worn throughout the entire year. Although I do love a good plaid (hello to the 15 I have in my closet), in my books, gingham will never be replaced.
I paired my gingham button up with an old green jacket that has been in my closet for years. It was bought from a boutique in Phoenix a long time ago, and even though it doesn’t come out a ton, it’s still a great piece. I would definitely wear it more if the sleeves were longer (they’re 3/4 sleeves) and maybe it was a little thicker. Edmonton has about 3 weeks in the year where this exact jacket could be worn perfectly, and I miss it every year because I underestimate the weather.
This lipstick is honestly my favourite red that I’ve ever seen on anyone. I have been using MAC Matte Ruby Woo forever and I still love it. It’s the perfect colour because it’s not too dark or orangey. This will continue to be my go-to lipstick for a really long time. You can see other ways I wore a red lip here, here, and here.
Have a great Saturday!
