Floral pattern is probably one of my absolute favourite things. From my About Me Page and Instagram bio you probably already knew that…Can you say obsessed? Florals can instantly make an outfit more interesting, and add a little bit of drama to a look. Anything from a great floral blazer to an amazing dress, I am hopping on board faster than you can whip out your credit card! I have always loved blooms. My favourite outfit when I was younger were multicolour floral pants and a pink shirt with flowers on it. Sad (or happy) to say, not much has changed! The dress I wore to my grade 9 graduation was a one shoulder cream dress with a small floral print, and then I did it again with a floor length black floral gown for my high school graduation. I have no doubt in my mind that florals will again be in attendance at my university graduation! Some people get scared off by the thought of pattern, and I understand, it can be daunting. But I would say that plaid, stripes, and florals are the first step to taking your wardrobe to the next level. They are easy to wear and not too busy to scare you off. Eventually, you when you can learn to wear 2 of the patterns at the same time, it’s time to move on to more advanced patterns, think leopard and gingham! Now onto this look! I have had this top for a very long time. After years of wear, it’s starting to show its age. I just can’t seem to get myself to give it away. The pink hues in the print which match perfectly with this light pink coat. I found this jacket in H&M when I was in Calgary visiting a friend and even though I told myself I would’t buy it, I couldn’t resist. In the past, I have paired it with a grey dress or even dress pants and a button up shirt. It adds a little extra to those plain business casual looks that we can get thrown into. My DUVAL Choker was another favourite addition. I love the versatility, and I knew I had to have it when I found out it’s made right here in Edmonton!

I’ve seen quite a few of those chokers and I like how there are practically a bajillion ways to style it. The floral pattern is quite lovely here! I’m not too into floral print but when I am I tend to gravitate towards darker florals.

They are definitely very “in” right now! Thank you Monica! I understand, it can get to be a bit much for some. Darker florals are gorgeous, probably some of my absolute favourites have been with darker colours!
