This summer, I’m really trying to take advantage of all the awesome things Edmonton has to offer. We are known as the city of festivals and this year I headed to K-Days and Taste of Edmonton to soak it in! There are even more festivals as we head into August like the Fringe and Folk Fest (which I’m heading to this weekend!). As fun as these events are, I’ve also been trying to get out and explore more of the city and finally do things that I’ve been meaning to do for years. We all know how it happens, see something cool, say you’ll go to it, and then never go. So this year I was determined to change that, and along came the revitalization of the Edmonton Riverboat!
The Edmonton Riverboat has been around for a long time, but recently underwent some major renovations and wasn’t open. In my Edmonton To-Do search, I came across their website and was super keen to spend a morning on the river. Instead of waiting around and then never getting around to it. I decided to get my a** in gear and book!
The riverboat turned out to be such a fun little event and I would for sure do it again! For the morning, you can purchase brunch tickets for $40 or simply boat tickets for $15. We opted for the full brunch which was a really good buffet style and coffee and tea. The brunch had a huge assortment of bacon, fruit, eggs benedict, waffles and even more. I should have fasted before so I could have eaten more! The cheaper tickets are good for the ride down the river and as much coffee and tea as you can drink, so if you’re on a budget but still want to go, those are a great option!
They have a ton of other events happening on the riverboat like Date Night and even morning yoga. More about the boat and activities available can be found here.
Spending a day on the water in Edmonton is not something that happens often, but this boat ride was such a nice way to see the city from a new perspective. I’ve been getting super behind the denim skirt trend so I pulled out an old one from H&M that I had in my closet; I also love jean skirts in a more A-line shape, with front buttons or black denim if you’re going for a more put together look! Because it’s a little nippy on the water in the AM, it’s always a good idea to bring along a cute summer jacket like this pink biker jacket or a practical but cute AF raincoat. Because we’re nearing the end of summer, it’s the perfect opportunity to snatch up the cutest summer sandals on sale (this neutral pair are perfect to head into fall)!
I’m determined to keep up my momentum in checking out more things around the city, so leave a comment about your favourite things to do in Edmonton, or your own city (I need help choosing my next travel destination!).
xx Victoria
