Looking for an easy way to transition your closet into fall? Today on the blog, I’m sharing how I use layered dresses as transition pieces as we head into a new season. There’s nothing like getting the price per wear of your summer clothes down LOW before you have to put them away for the year!

I love layering. Not only does it feel so quintessentially fall, but I find my outfits are so much more chic when I throw on a few layers. I mean, you can layer patterns, textures, colours.. you name it! I especially love layering dresses in the fall (and all year for that matter!). Probably because Edmonton has such a short “dress” season as it is. So I love elongating the time I can wear my pieces into the fall.
I need all the help I can get when it comes to wearing my pieces more. Lately, I’ve really been trying to declutter the things I don’t wear and focus on the favourites I do have!
This dress was a another thrift store find. I’ve been so into thrifting lately, and I’ve found some dang good pieces. For the most part, the pieces I’ve been finding look like they’ve never even been worn! As soon as I picked up this dress, I knew it would be perfect for the few weeks we had left of summer, and into fall.
Maybe it’s the colours, but something about this dress didn’t let me put it down! I have an affinity for dark floral prints like this dress and this dress that are already in my closet. What can I say, they just seem to work!

Dang, I’d be VERY impressed if I saw a grandma in this dress! Guess we’ll agree to disagree. Cheers! xx
