The fact that it’s summer and I am not in school feels AMAZING. Granted, working a full and part time job doesn’t really make these next 4 months as much as a “break” as I would have liked.. but, I need money to not only get me through the next 8 months of university, but also (hopefully) take me to Europe on exchange. So.. I’ve got lots to work for!

I would be lying if I said I wasn’t slightly intimidated writing my first post here on Strung in Gold, but I’m mostly excited to get started on something I’ve been wanting to do for a really long time.

I bought this shirt a while ago at the big sale Aritzia has as it moves into its winter collection. I love the ties because they add a little something to an otherwise simple top. I always wear this shirt with super fitted bottoms because it’s so loose; thankfully my black jeans do just the trick. I’ve bought a lot of pairs of black jeans over the past few years (they always seem to fade from how often I wear them). It took me  a few years (maybe it was maturity..? Probably not haha),  to realize that jeans and leggings cannot be substituted for each other. Thankfully, now leggings can only be found in my workout or final exams attire, because let’s be honest, finals attire IS leggings.

One of my favourite things to do when I’m wearing black pants is to pair them with black shoes. It elongates my legs and I think it makes the outfit look a lot more polished because you don’t have too many random colors in your basic pieces.

Because it was so cold, I paired this outfit with my All Saints leather jacket and Wilfred scarf.

My Marc by Marc Jacobs purse will become a staple in my blog posts because I wear it so much. I had saved for it for almost 2 years to afford the steep price tag, but it was the best purchase I ever made; 4 years later and I love it just as much as I did when I bought it.
