The fact that the year is pretty much done is absolutely baffling. Not only that though, the end of the decade is even harder to comprehend. Here’s a little 2019 recap as we head into 2020!
I started this decade in the 8th grade cheering on Canada in the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, which for some reason I still think about now (other than the fact that I am a diehard winter olympics fan).
I knew this was going to be a big year for me. From graduating university, starting my first full time job, traveling a LOT and moving into my first apartment; if that’s not a good year, I don’t know what is!
My travels this year included a trip to New York and my first touring solo trip to Australia with people I’m so thankful to still call friends even though we live VERY far apart, a family trip and my first time to South America (including hiking in Peru), and a very BIG learning experience in Quebec. In the new year, I plan to write more about how I am able to travel because I know I am very fortunate, but I also make sacrifices to be able to do the things I do. So stay tuned for more posts about that!
And obviously, the blog has gone through some changes this year! I made the big switch to the Vic Version back in February and have been loving it ever since! This was also the year I really nailed down a schedule for the blog. I’m not going to lie, I missed a few months (oops!) but other than a few blips, I tried really hard to share twice a week when I could. It’s going to be a big year for me since I’m back in school this year, but I’m hoping to keep up my schedule into 2020.
The blog got a lot more views this year, but there were 6 posts that really stood out.
My top 6 posts from 2019:
1. 22 Ways to Wear a Hair Scarf
My most popular post by far! This post was one of my faves from the year too. I can honestly say that my hair will never look this good again!
2. Travel Guide: Brisbane, Australia
I was in Brisbane for just over 2 weeks and in that time I managed to do a LOT! This post has enough brunch places and activities to last a life time in Brisbane.
3. 4 Cute & Comfy Outfits to Wear this Exam Season
I spent 5 years in university and in that time had a tried and true outfit formula for exam time. You’re not going to do your best if you’re not comfortable!
4. 5 Ways to Wear Leather Leggings
Leather leggings seem to be a top styling piece for you guys! I’ve slowed down my wearing of them just because I haven’t felt the pull, but this post was a favourite this year.
5. I Tried Drugstore Micellar Waters: Here’s the Best One
Micellar water is still a top part of my beauty routine and I tried out a bunch to find my fave. It looks like lots of people also wanted to know all about which one was the best!
6. A Complete Guide to Distressing Denim
Last but not least, my guide to distressing denim came in at number 6. Since I distressed my first pair, I’ve kept going strong and distressed a few more! The best part is, I never paid more than $9.50 for any pair I’ve ever distressed!
I can’t wait to start on my content for 2020. Hopefully I have lots of posts that you’ll love and will keep you coming back to the blog for inspiration, ideas or to learn something in the new year.
Thank you for every time you come to the blog, like a post on Instagram, purchase something from one of my links, etc. You’re allowing me to continue with this little passion project of mine, it really makes a difference to this blog!
Happy New Year!
xx Victoria
