Day 1: Button Up Mini Skirt and Shirt

This week is all about a button up mini skirt! I have had mine for a few months now, but have never gotten around to wearing it. Like a lot of other things in my closet (sadly), the tag is still attached. But last week I decided to pull it out and I came up with three different looks to show you guys! I love an item that is versatile. It pains me (sometimes) to buy things that I know won’t get much wear. I say sometimes, because some pieces are too gorgeous to pass up, whether I’ll wear them once or a million times, some things just need to come home with me… I can’t help it!

These skirts are everywhere.. and I mean EVERYWHERE! I feel like every girl I see is wearing one, with each looking cuter and cuter than the one before them. Obviously, I had to jump on board the button up trend. I was originally looking for a jean version, but when American Eagle came out with suede, I knew it was too good to be true. I snatched that baby up before it could even go on the sales floor!

In the first look, I decided to go a little more put together. A button up always makes an outfit more formal, and I love the way this one came out. The vertical stripes are my favourite; although, I do find it rather difficult to find a lot of pieces with them. Horizontal stripes are usually more of the rage. I added by black booties and little bow purse to my button up mini skirt to create a monochromatic look that I am loving. Throw a pair of tights on and you’ve got yourself a cold weather outfit!

My friend and I decided to do a little bit of exploring to try and find a neat place to take the photos. We ended up at the Muttart Conservatory and I was blown away by the gorgeous view from the roof. The building is built into the side of a hill, so getting to the top is just a few steps away. I have to admit, it’s a lot more difficult in heels! The view is so worth it though, if you have the chance, it’s definitely profile picture material up there!
