We’ve all likely been doing a bit more reading than we normally would during this quarantine. I’ve kept a list of all the books that everyone has told me were amazing and I’m sharing it with you. Make sure you request these all from the library soon people, they’re going to have long waits!
I’ve been on a reading binge during quarantine, and given I’m going to have less school this year than I did last year, I’m hoping to dive even deeper into a reading list than I did last year!
My 2020 reading goal was 20 books; for 2021, I bumped it up to 25. Reading brings me joy, and my hope is that I’ll be spending more time reading this year to not only take my mind of the ongoing COVID debacle, but also off work and school and just relax a bit. We could all use a little more of that if you ask me, especially given how 2021 has already been a sh*t show so far.
You can find the 20 books I was excited to read in 2020 here, along with the books I actually read in 2020 here and here.
Now, onto why we’re all actually here:

I’ve gotten all of these books either through recommendations from friends, or they’ve been rated at above 4 stars by people I follow on Instagram. Lord knows I tend to sway towards books that are available from the library when I need a new book, or I snagged thrifting at Goodwill, but this year I’m in a book club, so I’m hopeful that will keep me more accountable for actually reading the specific books that I’ve heard are great! I mean, I only managed to get through 5 of the ones from last year’s list (Such a Fun Age, The Silent Patient, Open Book, Dear Girls and Hillbilly Elegy).
I rate and keep track of all the books I read exclusively on the Goodreads app, so if you want even more recommendations, check me out there @thevicversion!
Have you read any amazing books that should be added to my reading list? Let me know in the comments!
xx Victoria
