Hello, welcome, it’s been a while! But I’m back with a much requested post from Instagram. I started making my own sunglasses chains at the beginning of quarantine because I loved the idea of making them myself using reused chains! Keep reading for a look at all the ones I’ve made & a couple available for sale.
I love a good sunglasses chain! I started regularly wearing one last year when I went to Australia, but I had actually attempted to make one a couples years ago. It was an absolute FAIL, but I learned from it, so now they turn out MUCH better.
See below for pictures and details of each chain that’s for sale. All are made from vintage chains, which means there may be small imperfections in the chains that were there when they were purchased. All the chains are $15 plus shipping, or if you are in the local Edmonton area, you can pick up and save on shipping costs!
To claim a chain, you can either message me through Instagram, email me at victoria@thevicversion.com or comment at the bottom of this post!
Sunglasses Chains
1. Thick Chain
This chain is the ultimate classic sunglasses chain. It’s made of a slightly heavier metal, but isn’t too heavy that it’s pulling your sunnies down. Maybe I just shouldn’t include this one and keep it for myself?!
Length: 32.5 inches
2. Dainty Chain – SOLD
The thinnest chain around! This is the smallest one of the group and is made of a vintage looking gold.
Length: 31 inches
3. Back Pearl Chain – SOLD
This chain has pearls along the middle of the chain, which means it mostly shows a thin gold chain when the sunglasses are on the face. Perfect business in the front, party in the back!
Length: 31 inches
4. Silver Pearl Chain – SOLD
The only silver one I’ve made so far! Please keep in mind this one is still made with gold attachments where it attaches to the sunglasses.
Length: 32 inches
5. Snake Chain – SOLD
This one is slightly discoloured along the length of the chain. It’s a vintage looking gold, but has faded parts throughout.
Length: 37.5 inches
6. Black Twisted Chain – SOLD
A late addition! I found this chain when I knew I didn’t need to make another chain, but it called out to me. So here we are.
Length: 30 inches
7. Gold Twisted Chain – SOLD
I love this one! Such a cool chain; it’s twisted and has a couple cool looking beads throughout the length of the chain.
Length: 33 inches
8. Dainty Pearl Chain
Gold chain with a few sets of plastic pearls set throughout. Dainty, but still makes an impact!
Length: 32.5 inches
9. Pearl Chain – SOLD
This one is a little stiffer than the rest because it’s all pearls. This one is my all time favourite for a wow factor. I’m telling you, these chains will do that to ya!
Length: 31.5 inches
I was never planning on selling them, but dang, they’re too cute to keep in my jewelry box. I always go too far with projects (aka making a million when I only need 1), but I’m so glad I did with these because look at all these cool AF chains!
Please let me know if you have any questions or want more info or pictures of any chains.
