I love mixing new and used pieces to give my outfits that little edge. Keep reading for one of my favourite outfits from this winter with both new and used pieces from my closet!
Thrifted Jacket via Goodwill | Zara Polka Dot Shirt | American Eagle Jeans | Zara Gingham Oxfords | Zara Pleated Bag | H&M Coin Earrings | Bobbi Brown Sunglasses
I know, I know, I ramble on and on about how awesome thrifted pieces are. I just can’t help it, I find the best stuff at Goodwill! This past year I’ve really taken a liking to shopping secondhand. Both thrifted and secondhand pieces have literally overrun my closet. So far a few non-new things that have graced the blog include these mint green trousers, this lace up bodysuit, and my go-to fuzzy coat. Half the stuff I wear isn’t new, which is exactly what I love!

I went shopping a few weekends ago and I loved all the stuff I got, but if I’m being honest, I kind of felt guilty. I’ve been making such an effort to shop secondhand that when I finally shopped new, it kind of felt wrong. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not again shopping new and I will continue to in the future. But, I realized that I am much more aware of the things that aren’t great quality and I won’t get as much wear out of.
I ended up returning this bag because of it. Did I love the bag? Yes! But did I realize that I would probably get 4 uses out of it before it fell apart? Also yes. My price per wear comes in and holds me back from making irrational purchases anymore!
Instead I decided to save the $40 I originally spent on this purse, and save up for a bag that would last me unlimited wears. That’s the kind of pieces I want to be investing in these days! Plus, it helps me reduce the clutter in my closet, which is always a win!
