I’m not going to lie, I had expectations for what my DIY distressed denim was going to look like. In all honesty, I’m blown away with how they turned out. It was easy enough and when the finished product is this good, you can bet this will be my new favourite thing to do!

I’ve been on a thrifting binge the past month. It’s probably because I now actually have the time for it that it makes it so much more fun. And now, it might just be one of my favourite hobbies!
I love thrifting denim because you can find cheap “old fashioned” jeans. When I say that, I mean I look for the hard, 100% cotton type. Those are the type that work best for distressing at home.
Last month, I shared a post with the exact steps to distressing your own denim. You can check that post out here and make sure to pin it to Pinterest so you can easily find it again! I also made a video about the process and shared it on IGTV which you can watch here. All in all, it was a month of a LOT of denim and broken fingernails (it’s hard work people!)
I finally snapped an outfit wearing my DIY creation and I honestly can’t get enough! The jeans turned out better than I even expected and they’re actually surprising comfortable for 100% cotton mom jeans.
Plus, they’re so easy to dress down or up, depending on what you’re doing. I paired them with a black turtleneck and denim jacket and the CUTEST new loafers I found on my trip to Australia. I’m not kidding, these shoes are what my dreams are made of. How can you go wrong with a giant red bow?! Answer: you can’t!
Hair accessories are the newest and best accessory as we head into fall. They’re cheap, easy and add so much to an outfit!

Hi Jenny! There are a few minor rips on the backside of the denim. If you want to get a better look, head over to my IGTV and watch the video tutorial I put together. xx
