I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I try SO hard to stay away from black once spring and summer hits. It’s usually a complete fail considering so much of my wardrobe is black, but I find myself so sad if it’s a beautiful day and I’m in an all black outfit. For me, if there’s any time to try colour, it’s in the spring and summer!
I know some people might not agree, and honestly, sometimes I don’t agree with myself. But I like making a little bit of an effort to wear brighter colours as the weather heats up. This year, that meant putting away my black nail polish a tad bit earlier, and that’s as far as I got while I was still in school.
When I’m trying to avoid black, I usually don’t stray too far. I opt for dark greens (like I did here), or navy. Navy is probably my all time favourite because it looks like black from far away, but I feel nautical AF. And that always gets me in the summer mood!

I’ve had this dress for a while and I originally got it for work way back when (you can see it’s blog debut here). But since then, I’ve come to really love wearing it on the weekends too.
I used to hate dresses because I could never find any long enough for me, and then I would end up so uncomfortable, pretty much on the constant brink of flashing someone. I’ve learned my lesson now though and only wear dresses that fall below the finger tips (I know, what a grade 10 dress code rule to follow LOL).
Now I’m a dress fiend and actually opt for them. I know, who would have thought?!
What colours do you love wearing in the spring?

Have you shut down the blog?

Hi Mareika! Don’t worry, the blog has not been shut down! What was supposed to be a one post break turned into a much longer hiatus than I planned, but there’ll be a new post on Thursday, guaranteed! Thanks for continuing to follow along! Victoria
