If the past 5 years of university have taught me anything, it’s that 1. finals suck (obviously), but 2. feeling gross usually doesn’t help the finals grind. So I’m here to share a few cute & comfy study outfits to wear this finals season that will change your drab study time into fab study time (or as fab as it can be!)
I’m definitely not one of those girls that gets fully dressed up during finals. I usually hit a wall after my 3rd test where I don’t give 2 craps about my outfit, and end up going to school in the same thing for days on end. Not cute, I know. But sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!
The outfits that I’m going to show you are super easy to recreate, and what I actually wear during exam season (before I hit the wall). That means, that they have got to be comfortable, because otherwise, there’s not a chance I would wear them!
4 Cute & Comfy Study Outfits to Wear this Exam Season

Athleisure
Athleisure can look SO cute when done the right way. Sweatpants were made for comfort, but I swear some were also made to be heinous. Those are NOT the ones to reach for btw.
When doing athleisure, make sure that the pieces you’re wearing aren’t old and gross. AKA, this is not an excuse to wear your junior high cotton sport camp t-shirt (yes, oddly specific since I have about 15 of these). It means, snatch up your favourite yoga tank top, some cute athletic joggers and call it a day!
I got a pair of black sneakers for my birthday last year and they’re the best thing that happened to my workout wear. They go with just about anything, and always look great when I’m trying to pull off the athleisure look. Do yourself a favour, and think about investing in a pair that you can wear both to look cute, and to workout in.

Joggers
Joggers are always a comfy choice when you don’t want to sacrifice style. The trick is getting a pair that aren’t too big. When joggers are too big, they look droopy and definitely don’t fit the cute criteria of this post. When you’re looking for joggers, look for some with a tad bit of stretch. AKA, make sure the fabric isn’t really stiff. The stiffness will make them less comfy to study in.

Trousers
Some people might not agree, but I think trousers are the comfiest pairs of pants I own. I honestly don’t know why I even bother with jeans these days.
If you’re getting a pair that fit you right, they’re going to be so comfortable, you won’t want to take them off! My favourite pairs to wear day to day as well as study in, are the Jallade Pant and the Modesto Pant, both from Aritzia.
I feel so polished when I put them on, regardless of the fact that I have’t left the library in 8 days!

Leggings
Ahh the classic move of study outfits. It’s either that the entire university library went to Lululemon before finals started, or I know why their share price is so high. It’s because everyone and their mom has about 15 pairs of leggings in their closet. Don’t be one of them PLEASE.
Leggings are great if you want something quick and easy, but the cute comes in with what you wear on the top. I ALWAYS wear a longer top when I wear leggings outside of he gym. They’re not a substitute for pants if you ask me. Trust me though, this has come from a LOT of experience wearing leggings all day everyday for years.
Sweaters are the easiest pairing, but you could also do a longer super casual dress (like this one or this one) and tuck it in at the front.
These 4 looks are quite literally what I’ve been living in this past week and what I will be living in for the next week. Wish me luck!

In all honesty, I don’t really care about how my outfit looks on my body. However, now that I have a boyfriend, I want to look cute while looking low-maintenance. Thanks for the ideas on how to recreate simple styles of outfits that work, so I might buy some tops from a boutique that may have these styles.

Glad I could help out! It’s all about feeling confident in yourself and your abilities so if a good outfit is what it takes, so be it! xx
