Here we go FINALLY with another post from my trip back in November! I’ll be sharing one post a week until I’ve officially worn you out of my vacation outfits and photos. Grab a coffee people, this is going to be a long one!
I started off with my favourite set of photos from the trip back in December because I loved this amazing dress too much not to share asap.
Traveling to Key West, Florida
The trip actually started farther south in Key West, Florida! My family and I flew in and spent 2 days in the Florida Keys before driving up to Miami Beach for the rest of the week. It was my first time and I was SO impressed with Key West. It was so warm out and the ocean water in that area is so clean and clear. I did kind of miss having a beach of sorts on a hot weather vacation, but honestly, I hardly noticed at all with all the other stuff we did.

We stayed at the Parrot Key hotel right on the water and it was beautiful! The rooms were super clean and right next to the pool which was so nice to literally walk right out your door to the pool. Can I request to have that here too?! JK, it’s hot enough to go to an outdoor pool for max 2 months a year in Edmonton…
There was some construction going on while we were there because they were still cleaning up from the past hurricane, but nothing too inconvenient. To compensate, we got snacks galore for free and I’m telling you, I’m going to wish they’re under construction if I ever go back.
My only hotel complaint came with the fact that we were there for 3 nights and they never cleaned our room. Not a big deal, but since they simply missed us both days, it was a bit annoying – especially since they tried to come and clean it at 10:30 pm after we had all gone to bed.

There are 3 pools right in the centre of the hotel so we obviously had to take a dip in each one. These pools were so dreamy; surrounded by tons of plants and cool details like sculptures and doors – so many photo moments I didn’t know where to pose next!
They also had free breakfast and they knew how to do breakfast. I swear the best bagels E.V.E.R. and so much selection. I could have eaten the stuff they had there for the entire day!
We chose to do a seadoo excursion on our first day there so we could see more of the ocean and surrounding area from the water. It was SO pretty around the Key with super clear water and mangroves everywhere. I would have just stayed in the water for the rest of the day! The only other activity we bought from the hotel was renting bikes for a 24 hour time period. It let us ride down into town for an evening and then the next morning we rode to the most southern tip of the United States. Definitely a tourist attraction, but neat to see none the less.

In town, we walked around the boardwalk and tried to soak up as much of the warm night as we could. I can’t even imagine how hot it gets there in the summer. We were there mid November and it was freaking HOT. Definitely something to consider if you’re looking at traveling down there but don’t take well to the heat, like me.
This particular day, I had the outfit on below which was so cute and I was feeling like a straight hottie in it . The minute I stepped outside for some pictures, I knew I had to change ASAP. It was so hot, I sweat in the shirt within 2 minutes of leaving air-conditioning. What can I say, I’m just not cut out for the heat!

Warm weather vacations are so nice, especially when you live in a place that’s cold for most of the year! Edmonton is great and all but the cold gets old very quickly.
Key West definitely has a bit of an older crowd. If you’re looking for a party place for your next girls trip, might want to skip the Keys. But, if you’re wanting a warm weather trip with beautiful water and good food – Key West is for you!

Interesting read, sweetie! 🙂 That American Eagle skirt is super cute but way too short for my taste. 😛 Keep the posts comin’

Thankfully, it looks shorter than it is because I have long legs – but I’m sure there are longer ones out there for your taste! Thanks for stopping by! xx
