Recently I’ve been trying to make more of an effort to be conscious about my habits and opt for things that will be better for the environment. I really think that a little thing can go a long way so I’ve been trying to start with little things and slowly shift towards a more waste free lifestyle. Obviously I am not super good and I still do use a ton of stuff that isn’t good for the environment, but we’ve all got to start somewhere!
One place I have shifted over is in my beauty routine. I started with natural shampoo and conditioner but I’m not having much luck with finding one that I like. Once I finish the bottle I’m currently using, I’m going to try Lush Cosmetics packageless products and see how my hair reacts to them.
For my skincare, I was never super impressed with any of the products I was using before (which is why I never shared then), so I thought what the hell! I followed the lead of a gal I follow on Instagram, and bought some natural products for my night routine. I have loved the results so far! My skin seems super fresh and much nicer in the mornings especially, and although I don’t love that my face is kind of oily when I go to bed (because I’m putting oils on it LOL), I don’t care enough to say something bad about these products because they’ve helped my skin so much lately.
I snagged mine from Plant Organic and Amazon but I know Whole Foods (US only) has a good selection as well.
Nighttime beauty products I’m loving this fall
1. Micellar Water
I noticed that when I take off my makeup with cleanser, not all of it is coming off. I never want to go to sleep with makeup left on my face, so I started using a micellar water after taking my maekup off. It removes all the dirt and grime left over and I love how fresh my face feel after!
I’m currently using Garnier Micellar Water but I prefer Simple Cleansing Micellar Water because I find it leaves me feeling fresher and less dry. Just put a small amount on a cotton pad and gently wipe it all across your face and neck – wherever you normally wear makeup!

2. Rosehip Oil
After the micelar water, I put a few drops of rosehip oil all over my face and neck. It works as a moisturizer, but I’ve also noticed it brightening up my complexion by the time morning comes around! I snagged a huge bottle off Amazon so this one will last me for MONTHS!
3/4. Jojoba Oil/Aloe Vera Gel
I usually put a small amount of aloe vera gel and jojoba oil in my palm and mix it together before pressing on my face and neck. This is light but still effective in combatting dryness which is what I usually opt for in a nighttime routine. I used to use a heavy, oily moisturizer but found that it didn’t really do much for dryness, and instead made my skin feel heavy and clogged.
This combination has really worked for my skin in combatting dryness and oil throughout the day; good skin is always a bonus to all your fall fashion! I am still on the hunt for a cleanser that I really like so if you have any recommendations, leave them in the comments below!
