The other day, it had stopped raining for about 5 seconds, so I hauled up my friend and we went to take some outfit photos. I love that having this blog and taking pictures so often means that I get to check out parts of the city that I normally wouldn’t go to.
We ended up at Government House Park. Neither my friend Emily, nor I had ever been so it was pretty exciting to find someplace new. Edmonton is a little tricky to find exciting backdrops as a lot of it looks similar. Very beautiful, but very similar.
We walked almost half the distance of the park and found a nice little spot to shoot my springy getup. I went with a super light colored look, whites and pastels. I have always been one to lean towards the darker colors (aka black, black, and navy), but I have really been trying to liven up my wardrobe by taming my black habit and buying more light and colorful things. I find in the summer if I’m always wearing black, it actually tends to make me sad! For that same reason, I refuse to paint my nails black in the summer, even though it goes with pretty much everything I own. Strange how clothes can do that to you hey?
I pulled out my trusty American Eagle jeans, which are actually supposed to be boyfriend fit. I bought them 3 sizes smaller so they would fit more like a skinny jean, and I love how they turned out. They don’t lose their shape as easily as some of my other jeans because they are a thicker jean, plus, they’re one of the only pair I have that I don’t have to wear a belt (Score!).
I had been coveting this top for a while and my friends ended up buying it for me for my birthday. I love how the tie accentuates my waist, and I love the back detail with the cross over. I picked up this scarf at the Aritzia sale last week and since have been wearing it non stop over my white blouses. I love wearing white on white because it adds some dimension (similar to this post with a black top and blazer).
To finish off the look I added some pastel accessories including my blush flats and brand new bag. My nails are in a summery blue hue and I swiped on a bit of Covergirl lipstain to finish it off.
