3 Reasons You Need a Pair of Loafers

Before coming to Copenhagen, I didn’t know that loafers could be integrated into a wardrobe so seamlessly. Walking around the streets of Europe has shown me so many new and exciting ways to style current pieces in my wardrobe, but also new pieces that would be perfect additions to my closet. If there are two things that the ladies of Copenhagen love, it’s fur coats and loafers; I knew I had to jump on the trend!

I found these loafers at an end of season sale at a small boutique in town. I was able to score them for 60% off! Later, I took them to Paris with me and paired them with a black dress and tights; they were so comfortable, I wore them walking around all day.

If you are hesitant about investing in a pair of loafers like I was, don’t worry. I’m here to tell you why you need them in your life!

1. They are the perfect shoe to go from work to play

Seeing as I start my internship relatively soon, I am trying to buy only things that I will be able to wear into the office. That’s easier said than done, but these loafers are the perfect addition to my shoe closet to make it more work appropriate, while still having a ton of options for a girls night or a stroll downtown!

2. They make a casual pair of jeans instantly chic

As a student, I am usually in jeans for most of the week. That being said, I love going to school confident in what I’m wearing. Loafers can turn a basic pair of jeans into a chic outfit; just throw on a floral top and you’re good to go!

3. They are as versatile as flats, but keep you warm for winter

Being from Edmonton, I rarely end up with more than 4-5 months of warm weather. This way, I ALWAYS have to worry about if something can transition between seasons. Loafers are perfect because they act like a pair of flats, while still being big enough to wear throughout the winter months.
