The slip dress and turtleneck trend was one that I originally hated! I saw a bunch of girls wearing baggy tops underneath dresses that looked like they were better off as “night” attire. So, in true Victoria fashion, I decided to make the trend work for me. This meant pulling out a tight turtleneck and a dress a little more made for the outdoors. I loved the way the look turned out! It was actually what I wore for my family get together on Christmas Eve. I switched out the lipstick for my Ruby Woo shade and it was the perfect dressy look, yet it kept me warm (which is always an issue for me)!
I love to try and find new ways to wear things that are already in my closet. Dresses are super hard to wear a lot in the Edmonton weather; I usually put them away right when the weather turns a little bit chilly. So any excuse to pull them out and get a little more wear out of them is always welcome!
This particular one I bought from Forever 21 years ago. It has kind of been sitting in my closet collecting dust for a the past few years; I blame the fact that I haven’t gone on a tropical vacation in way too long, and that my cardigan collection is lacking for when my shoulders get cold in the spaghetti straps!
This lipstick had been on my wishlist for ages. It was a little pricey so I always skipped it at Sephora. I ended up receiving it as a Christmas gift and I’m so glad my mom splurged on it for me.
I wore it for my going away party before I left on exchange and after a full night of eating and drinking, my lipstick was still intact. That my friends, is a miracle! Since then, it has been my go-to lipstick for when I know I will be snacking the night away. I know it’ll stay put!
