Coat season is upon us full force, and this year, I upped my game. I used to consider coats to be purely for warmth. They didn’t need to match my outfit or look nice really at all, as long as they kept me warm. When I was in elementary school, I thought the same about your shoes and sweater. The only things that used to have to match for me was my top and bottoms. I wore a bright green Aeropostale sweater and purple Superstore runners with everything. As you can (hopefully) tell, I have grown out of this in a big way.

More recently, I coats have become a lot more of an accessory to me. I spend more time outside now, and since I started university, I have come to realize that a coat is as much a part of your outfit as your shirt (I walk between buildings a lot). I know, I’m a little behind the times. Since I came to this realization, I have been eyeing jackets left and right. This year I was able to add a gorgeous trench, a light pink overcoat, and a black demin jacket to my collection. Still, my leather jacket will always be a favourite and now this Chicwish beauty will be perfect for my upcoming year in an office job. I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t expecting the coat to be as nice as it is when I bought it. I wasn’t too sure the quality but I was super impressed when it came in the mail.

Fall and winter are all about the plaids. I love a good plaid flannel but plaid scarves are where my heart lies. I bought this scarf years back when they weren’t as popular so it took me way too long to find it. The Nordstrom in Phoenix was where this baby caught my eye; I love the mix of reds and yellows with neutrals.
