I have about 3 weeks before I leave for Copenhagen and it’s just starting to hit me. My exams are finished and now is the time that I am full fledged getting ready. My lists are up to date, my suitcase is starting to fill up, and my to-do list is getting shorter.
I have been to Europe a few times in the past. I traveled to London and York, around Italy, and I have also been to Amsterdam. All these cities are stunning, and I will probably end up making a trip back to a few of them! This time though, I have a lot more places on my list. I know it might be a stretch to get to all these places on my limited funds, but hey, all I can do is try my best right?! Below I have made up a list of the 5 places to visit in Europe, my main priorities!
5 Places to Visit in Europe
1.Greece (Santorini & Athens)
I am appalled at myself for even saying this, but my Classics 101 class last year has made me want to visit Athens. We learned so much about Greek mythology, and even though it was the worst class that I have ever taken in my entire life, somehow I need to see it. Who would have thought about applying something they’ve learnt in school to the real world?! Not me!
Santorini is another must stop place on my list. The gorgeous white buildings and the blue water have me dying for the photo ops! I will 100% be that crazy lady that only packs white in my suitcase for the entire trip, and pays exuberant amounts of money to ride a donkey up the steps (does no one else remember Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants?!)
2. Berlin
Berlin is the one of the tours that my school puts on. At the end of April, I will be on a school trip to the capital of Germany. The Berlin Wall is something that I need to see before I die, and I can’t wait to soak in all the history that lines the streets.
3. Scotland
Being that this was one of my top choices when I was deciding where to go on my exchange, I need to go! I could not be more excited about Copenhagen, but Scotland is so gorgeous, I don’t think I could be that close and not head over. The photos from past exchange students are literally what dreams are made of, and I will not rest before I get a few good shots of my own! (watch out Insta, I’m coming for ya!)
4. Paris
I’ve heard a few too many bad things about Paris: the people get mad if you don’t speak French, it’s dirty, and all in all it just doesn’t live up to expectations. Despite this, it is definitely still on my list. I feel like it’s one of those places that you just need to see if you’re in Europe and have the opportunity. I am seriously hoping that my expectations are severely wrong and I can take my dream (and cliche) picture in front of the Eiffel Tower!
5. Oslo
Norway has never really been a must see for me. I really didn’t even think about it until I read reviews on the Copenhagen exchange. The school had an organized trip there about 10 years ago and excited about this possibility, I did a bit of research. As it turns out, CBS no longer does a trip to Norway, but I decided that I just might have to go solo. It looks gorgeous!
So those are my top 5 places to visit in Europe during my exchange semester, what cities are on your must see list?

Hi Victoria
If you have time whilst in Copenhagen you can get a mini cruise from Copenhagen to Oslo. It is run by DFDS and you get 2 nights on onboard, as it sails overnight both journeys! I’ve done it and it is brilliant and very cheap out of season.

Wow! That sounds incredible! I keep looking for the best travels while in Denmark, but I kind of just gave up until I got there. I’ve heard Oslo is incredible and now this confirms that I need to go!
