Wilfred Turtleneck | Flowered Tulip Shirt (similar) | Wilfred Leather Leggings | Aldo Booties (similar) | Tayroc Leather Watch | Leather Purse (similar)
As much as Edmonton had an unusually mild winter, this summer it’s been a half and half mix of super hot and sunny, and super cold and rainy. This particular day last week was absolutely freezing. I wore the thickest turtleneck I have, in the middle of May..
The flowered layer underneath is actually a tulip shirt. They were super popular a last year and since then, have somewhat fizzled out, I LOVE them though. They are the most perfect layering piece in my closet plus they look great on their own, and now I am pretty upset with myself that I didn’t snatch up a couple more while I still had the chance! This particular one is long sleeve with a gorgeous flower pattern; it’s perfect for layering under neutral, basic pieces. I also have 3 short sleeved ones in white, black, and burgundy that will definitely be making appearances on the blog later on. Check out this super cute one here (perfect for layering underneath a sweater with the bottom cut outs)!
I bought these leather leggings second hand from a friend who happened to buy the wrong size. Right after I paid her for them and brought them home, all I could think of was how I would NEVER wear them. They sat in my closet for months before I ever put them on; after that one time though, I was completely hooked. I think in the first week of the Winter 2016 semester, I wore them 4 out of the 5 days… They just add so much to whatever outfit you wear them with, instantly making it a lot more interesting. I was notorious for wearing my black leggings everyday of my life and after I realized athletic leggings could not be worn with every outfit I own, I traded them in for my black jeans (and I have worn 3 pairs of those completely out), finally landing on these, and I have to say, they are by far my fav! They do fall down a little, which is why I always wear longer shirts with them.
These black snake skin print booties add some length in my legs and my tiny bow purse that I bought in Italy like 8 years ago is still so cute and I love that it’s so lightweight for carrying around. This outfit is all about the leather!!
