Madewell Dress (old, similar here) | Aritzia Vest | Steve Madden Heels (sold out, also love these) | Old Navy Bag (in burgundy here) | Thrifted Earrings | Tayroc Watch | NYX Lipstick
A few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I realized that we hadn’t been on a date since our anniversary 6 months before. Pretty sad right? I had barely even noticed because we are always doing things with our friends, or watching Netflix together (he’s trying to get me into Game of Thrones but I’m not quite convinced). So when we realized we hadn’t gone for a dinner date in half a year, we quickly planned one for that week.
When I’m watching TV I like to be nice and warm and cozy, so I usually pull out my onezie for such occasions. Jackson hadn’t seen me in anything fancy for months! So.. I pulled out a dress I’ve had in my closet for a few years and was so excited I finally had somewhere to wear it!
I’ve had such an issue finding dresses that are not super short on me, and for some reason, last month when I was cleaning out my closet, I tried on all my dresses and found a lot of them to be significantly shorter than I remember, this one included. No sure what happened there! All I know is that from now on, length has to be a main priority when buying anymore dresses.
I don’t know why everyone always raves about dresses having pockets, I mean I love it too but still. For some people it’s a complete deal breaker. I found this dress on clearance at Madewell years ago in Phoenix and fell in love when I saw the huge discount. And as much as I drag on about people loving pockets, I loved the pockets in this one as well as the full length zipper. I didn’t have a striped dress in my wardrobe so that was probably the biggest push for me.
I paired the dress with my Wilfred Fuzzy vest and pulled out my pastel green bag yet again (also seen here).
My heels let me be dressy without being too formal (last seen here), and pulling my hair into a pony shows off my amazing gold earrings. These earrings were a Value Village find from years ago, and although they are quite heavy, I love the design on them! The bracelet was also a cool find, although it was from my mom’s jewelry box!
Finally, I swiped on a little color to my lips and eagerly waited to head out on my date!
