Floral Blazer

For me, a huge part of summer dressing is trying not to wear a lot of black, and due to the copious amounts of it in my closet, this is a difficult task. I’ve said it before on the blog, but wearing black when the sun is out in full force and it’s hot, not only makes me boil, but it also kind of makes me sad. I love wearing bright colors and light hues to match the warmth that these months bring. As much as I love black, I try and keep it for when the weather goes downhill.

I first saw this blazer on Gal Meets Glam and instantly fell in love. It looked so gorgeous with her otherwise all white look; I had to have it! Plus, something on GMG that I could afford made me feel pretty awesome. I ordered 2 sizes online so I could return one in store to ensure one fit. I was shocked with how easy it was to return with Zara. The money was credited to the card I purchased with online and I had a month to do it! I will definitely be a repeat offender buying Zara online if that’s what they’re like!

 

I decided that I didn’t want to wear the blazer with all whites simply because I’d seen everyone else do it already. Next time I probably will, but for now I chose to wear my tulip shirt (see this post for more on this style of shirt) and leather leggings (last seen here). I also pulled out my adorable find from Forever 21 for its first appearance on the blog! This bag is so cute and the perfect nude color. It’s pretty small, especially for me and my wallet… My wallet is the exact size of the purse so that and maybe a tube of lipstick is all that will fit!

I have no doubt the next time I pull out this blazer, it will be with an outfit that rivals the snow in Edmonton. I just have to make sure I won’t be eating or drinking while I’m wearing it!
